Meet Dr. Jennifer Hanson

Start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart. – Dr. Jennifer Hanson

Learning from her grandfather, who was a professor of organic chemistry, Dr. Jennifer Hanson enjoyed science and performing experiments with her chemistry sets from a very young age. Her fascination with the human body increased as she progressed in school, enjoying studying biology. She pursued medicine as a career because she felt that’s where she could do the greatest good. As Vitalogy Skincare’s newest Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeon and Board-Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Hanson regularly performs Mohs Surgery to help her patients overcome skin cancer.

When asked about her choice of specialty, Dr. Hanson remarked, “Dermatology is such a fun field as you are able to fully treat the patient – from the clinical examination to performing a range of procedures and correlating your clinical impression with the histopathology under the microscope.”

  • Tip One: Actively practice sun protection – use a combination of sunscreen and photoprotective clothing including a hat and sunglasses, try to avoid being out when the UV rays are the strongest (between 10 am to 4 pm), seek shade.
  • Tip Two: If something does not seem right – a new growth, changing lesion, bleeding, or otherwise symptomatic lesion, please see a dermatologist.
