What Is Dysport®?

Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injection to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age.

The treatment is more diluted than others and diffuses to a larger area upon injection. Dysport® temporarily helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other imperfections by temporarily preventing muscle contraction.

What Results Can I Expect With Dysport®?

Just one 10-20–minute treatment may help improve the look of the frown lines between your eyebrows. Results vary for each patient, but typically Dysport® lasts up to 5 months.

What Should I Expect During Treatment?

A Vitalogy Medical Spa Provider will have an in-depth consultation with you to understand your concerns, goals, and determine the best treatment plan for your specific needs. The number of injections required to achieve your desired results will be determined by your provider.

Effective treatment requires 1 injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows. Although office visit times vary, the procedure generally takes 10 to 20 minutes. Your Provider will determine the each placement of each injection for best results.

After your treatment you will be provided with post-care instructions, and should be able to resume your normal activities. The injections are not considered painful, although a topical or local aesthetic may be applied before treatment to maximize the comfort of the patient.

Are There Any Side Effects?

A mild amount of tenderness around the treated area is sometimes experienced. It is normal to have some redness and swelling after an injection. If the redness or swelling persists and becomes painful, please contact our office immediately.

Is There Any Downtime?

There’s minimal downtime after your Dysport® treatment, which means you can get back to your day!

Is Dysport® Right for Me?

Do not get Dysport® injections if you’re allergic to Dysport® or any of its ingredients (see packaging for ingredients), if you’re allergic to cow’s milk protein, if you’ve had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, such as Myobloc® (rimabotulinumtoxinB), BOTOX® (onabotulinumtoxinA) or XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA), or if you have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
