Depending on what your skin care goals are and what results you are trying to achieve, using different treatments may provide you with better, longer-lasting results. When you meet with one of our highly skilled and experienced Dermatology Providers, rest assured that they will guide you through the variety of Cosmetic Dermatology treatments that we have available to create a customized plan geared to help you achieve your goals. These are some of the treatments you can explore:

Exfoliation Treatments

Our skin is constantly generating new skin cells, and it is essential to exfoliate the older skin cells to make way for younger skin. Exfoliation treatments can help with various skin concerns, depending on the treatment. They can help smooth out your skin, clear acne, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, help with some pigmentation issues, and hydrate your skin. At Vitalogy Skincare, there are a wide variety of treatments you can select from, including:

  • Chemical Peels
  • Microdermabrasion – This treatment removes damaged skin by gently “sandblasting” the top layers of the skin with tiny crystals (also known as exfoliation), exposing the newer skin cells below. This stimulates the growth of new skin cells, leading to a more youthful-looking skin.
  • Dermaplaning
  • Clinical Facials
  • Vitalift—The Vitalift treatment is our signature combination facial that includes microdermabrasion, a rejuvenating enzyme under steam with extractions as needed, a refreshing chemical peel to keep your skin bright and supple and promote skin cellular turnover, and a hydrating treatment mask to calm and soothe your skin.
  • Hydrafacial®

At Vitalogy Skincare, we have various brands of neurotoxins and fillers available for all needs.

What are Neurotoxin “Wrinkle Reducers”?

Botulinum neurotoxin injections are the most popular cosmetic treatment. Botulinum toxin is an injectable neurotoxin, usually known by different brand names such as BOTOX® Cosmetic,  Dysport®, and Xeomin®. The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin is a purified substance that’s derived from a bacteria called Clostridium botulinum. These products are mainly used to smooth dynamic wrinkles, which form due to repetitive facial movements such as squinting, frowning, and smiling. These cosmetic injections block nerve impulses to the muscles, causing them to relax. As a result, your lines are softened or temporarily smoothed. Neurotoxins are also used for various medical ailments, such as migraines, excessive sweating, and overactive bladder, to name a few.

What are Fillers?

Dermal fillers, also known as soft tissue fillers, are FDA-approved medical products used to create a smoother and fuller appearance to the skin and structures of the face. As we age, it is natural for our skin to start showing some changes as we lose some of the subcutaneous fat that supports our skin. Our skin also starts losing elasticity, allowing wrinkles to show on our faces. Injecting these fillers under the skin allows the lines and wrinkles to smooth out, while others can create structure on cheeks and chins. The most popular face areas to have dermal fillers are the nasolabial folds (the lines extending from the sides of the nose to the edges of the mouth), cheeks, chin, and lips.

The FDA has approved four types of fillers; three are considered temporary fillers because they are made with materials that the body breaks down and absorbs over time. These materials are hyaluronic acid, a sugar naturally found in the body (JUVÉDERM and Restylane®); calcium hydroxylapatite (RADIESSE®), a mineral and a component of bone; and poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic, biodegradable product (Sculptra®). Since these materials are eventually absorbed into the body, the results of the fillers are temporary and can last from six months to a couple of years.
