As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Kim Phillips focuses on Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology and is skilled in dermatologic surgery, including minor excisional surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstruction after skin cancer surgery and excision of melanoma. Since completing her training in 1992, she has treated over 125,000 patients with skin cancer. Dr. Phillips is also skilled in cosmetic dermatology, including care of sun-damaged skin and wrinkles, chemical peels, filler and Botox injections, scar revision and laser surgery.
During her 10 years on staff at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Phillips was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology, Chair of the Division of Dermatologic Surgery and an Associate Program Director of the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship. She has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed papers and four book chapters. She has lectured on skin cancer, laser surgery, and skin cancer in solid-organ transplant recipients at both national and international conferences.
She has served on various AAD, ACMS and American Medical Association committees and as an expert witness for the Office of Inspector General. She has been selected by her peers as one of the “Best Doctors in America,” a list of the nation’s most respected doctors recognized as the best in their fields.
Dr. Phillips has two grown children and lives in the Austin area with her husband Brent.
